Despite most politicians and lawmakers continuing to relay false information about cannabis, there are still some of those that will tell the truth and stand up for weed reform. These are top 5 most influential pro-cannabis politicians to pay attention to.
1. Sen. Cory Booker
In the summer of 2017, Sen. Cory Booker called for an end to the federal prohibition on weed, with the bill called the Compassionate Access, Research Expansion, and Respect States Act. or the CARERS ACT for short. In a room of lawmakers, he argued, “This [prohibition] makes no sense in science, makes no sense in compassion, makes no sense in terms of law, it makes no sense frankly in terms of economics.”
2. Rep. Jared Polis – Polis along side with some other pro-cannabis representatives like Reps. Dana Rohrabacher and Earl Blumenauer from California and Oregon, take great effort to protect and promote the cannabis industry. Part of this battle will include fighting Sessions’ actions to challenge marijuana reform. They will be active in creating marijuana legislation.

Alongside others, she stands against rescinding the Cole Memo and does so very loud, despite the fact that she wasn’t a support of the cannabis industry. However, when it comes to strong state’s rights, she will not stand aside.
